The last few weeks have been nuts. Too nuts to blog about. So, head over to Flickr to see our photos, if you want. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonezes

Included are:
  • Prague where I got some great shots of an awesomely pretty place
  • Stuttgart (charming!) with a bonus set from the Bodensee where we took a ferry
  • Dusseldorf/Essen (which means Eating in German) with special emphasis on the Zollervein coal mine, a UNESCO site that used to be the largest coal mine in the world. It's Bauhaus and lovely, and worth another visit
  • Versailles with my Mom and her husband Ray (first time for me and Dennis)

On Saturday we're off to Athens and Istanbul, armed with a ton of guidebooks, great hotel rooms in small inns with wireless access, and the new GO List http://www.foodandwine.com/golist/ full of delicious sounding restaurants.

Aaah, nothing so fine as a vacation.

In June, we have pals coming to Amsterdam and Paris, and then on the 28th we'll head to the east coast. A few days with Dad, a few days with Mom, Chrissy, and D's Mom (all at the same time, thanks to Mom's huge house!), and then a few days in NY/Boston to catch up with our pals.

Further off on the horizon, I'm looking into a cruise with the German cruise line (and shipping line) Hapag Lloyd. They were recommended by Julia, D's "cousin" in Essen, who is a travel agent. The trips look awesome because they go to lots of places we'd never see otherwise, like Libya, Malta, Ukraine, Algeria, etc. We're on a waiting list for a really great one, HAN0621. Check them out -- maybe you want to come join us!

Also, spring is springing in Paris, so it's about 75 degrees today, and mostly sunny. Dennis and I are counting the minutes for work to be done, so we can go to our local bistro and drink wine on the terrasse.

A plus tard! (Until later!)
A.
